Almonds, A Free Pattern
This pattern was inspired by its namesake, of course! At first look it seems organic, but it’s actual very symmetrical! There is also a beautiful contrast in the actual shape of the almond – rounded and sharp on opposite ends. Here are 4 of my color picks – Pesto, Butter, Sea Salt & Raw. See a pattern? Urban Hiking
Camped a night here at Floyd Bennett Field. The full moon was covered by thick clouds, but the city lights provided enough light for some late night spelunking adventures.

Supermoon
Took a few tries to get good snap shots of some thing so bright at night. Here’s my favorite snapshot of the supermoon from last Saturday night, taken around 10PM EST. M, N and I had planned on camping upstate last weekend and the supermoon happen to coincide. At first it was really cloudy, but the light still broke through. The sky completely cleared up by 11PM, but not before all the clouds split up into a million pieces, almost as if the moon’s energy was breaking them up and summoning them closer. It was like watching a surrealist painting turn into a photograph. Learn more about the supermoon from NASA.
